They say you can run a engine without any oil so I tired it on my 1975 Chevy Pick up on a bet...that darn engine locked up three miles down the road.

Don't believe those commercials. Synthetic oils are good. They don't break down at high temperatures as easy as natural oil. No Car or Truck Motor on the planet can run without oil. Those commercials only run the motor 15 to 30 seconds without oil, maybe a minute. At least a 75 Chevy motor is easy to rebuild or replace. Sorry you learned from a bad experience. I hope you won the bet.
I use Castro Gtx myself. Mobile, Vavoline, Kendall are good synthetic oils to use. If you using it and older motor use a high mileage oil. Motorcycles use synthetic oils. They are better.

I oftentimes prefer to interchange it at 5000 miles purely because of the fact the purifier you retain the engine the longer that is going to final, yet somebody i understand as quickly as forgot to have it replaced until approximately 12,000 miles. in the event that they have been utilising widespread somewhat of man made they could have killed the engine, and inspite of man made letting it pass that long isn't a very good concept.
