I think unisex restrooms are a great idea, but I think calling them "transgender" restrooms is a horrible idea. People seem to think they're just some special "privilege" trans people want. They react negatively to that, from the gut.
I say unisex, handicap-accessible, washrooms with baby changing stations should be encouraged. Trans people could use them, of course, but so could anyone else who needs to go. There can still be communal washrooms for "men" and "women" (or "buoys" and "gulls" if you're in a seafood restaurant), but they wont need to be as big if these other rooms are available.

Why not have unisex restrooms? I applaud the efforts to level the playing field for everyone, but at the same time having transgendered facilities is just ridiculous.

Trans gender bathrooms save money. Why build two bathrooms when one will do. Put a tampon despencer in + baby changer & you are all set for both sexes.

I will not enter a transgender restroom. Are you referring to the "Family Restrooms" where a subcaption reads. "Dad's welcome, too" What is the deal with that?
