It depends how good the song the artist thinks it is. Mostly it's just around 2 or 3, but for some artists like Kelly Clarkson and the Pussycat Dolls, it's around 4 or 5.

Usually all the best songs are never on the Billboard charts.I listen to metal and not once have I seen any great Metal songs on the billboard charts. So I hate singles. I think an entire album should be great, not just one or 2 songs.

Based on my experiences it depends on the group. The groups typically release one single to get airtime. They may follow that up 2-3 months later with another single. Most CDs/Records do not contain more than 3 hits, unfortunately.

In the 80's and 90's the second song that was released was typically the better of the two singles.

Yeah I agree, freeing both all or many of the singles first, with the album following makes more advantageous experience to me. although, I also see the point in freeing the album first and then having the singles follow. even with each and everything, all that singles are used for is to promote the artist and the album, so both way you'll type of get a similar end result. yet i ought to imagine that with techniques from conserving off the launch of the album, a much better experience of angst and decide for the album ought to strengthen between the attracted listeners.

Usually 3. Some artists release more as singles for radio play, but don't make videos for them.

Depends, great artists get more exposure. If the song it great, then the artist will get more songs released. If you're K.Fed, then one song and thats it
