So most Americans think they should be allowed to carry guns??? It will make there crime rate go down??? Make criminals think twice before commiting a crime??? ERRRRRRRRRRR NO!!!. It will do the complete opposite. If criminals think everyone might have a gun will they think twice before trying to rob them or just shoot them and then rob them. Criminals are desperate people often with nothing to lose so if everyone is armed the will become more desperate and the crime and death rates will be the highest in the world. Poor gullable americans. What will the think of next. Your opinons please

Interesting then isnt it when Britain has a much lower gun crime rate than you yanks. Guns are only as dangerous as the people who have them and in your case thats very dangerous and the exact reason why Americans shouldnt have the right to bear arms, especially in the street. Remember all the school kids killed by your guns because some other kid wasnt happy.

To the US Copper, our police refuse the right to carry fire arms unless they are involved in Armed response units or policing high security areas. Our police force is better than yours as we can solve crimes without the threat of death, injury or risk to the public compared with that of America. Only Americans would think they are safer with guns. You get a hand gun the criminal gets and SMG, you get a shotgun the criminal gets an M16. Criminals dont fear because to fear you have to have compassion for others.

If you have a gun you should have it securly locked away in a safe place where children and unstable people cannot find or get access to it and ammo should be kept in a seperate place. Get an alarm system linked directly to the police station if you want to protect your home. Almost all burgleries world wide take place when the occupents are out of the house so what use is a gun. Would be a laugh if you had another cival war aswell

I think you're right, maybe if we invade a bunch of countries and kill a bunch of innocent civilians, then our death rates will seem small

And how will taking the guns away from the law abiding citizens reduce crime? It won't, but perhaps it won't increase and perhaps it will increase nobody can know for sure. Taking guns out of the hands of the citizens is just another way to ensure the control of the masses and minimize resistance to the powers that be. Yes using a gun to defend your home against a criminal in your house can be a bad idea most of the time.
But the second amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear arms. As with all rights there comes a measure of responsibility, the 2nd amendment is not an absolute right and I think if we "Gullible Americans" as you call us are to keep our rights we need to be taught responsible gun ownership before we are allowed to own a gun and exorcise our rights under the 2nd amendment. The gun is really not to blame here it is the attitudes of us mortals who rome the earth that are to blame. Remove the gun from the equation and something else will take its place to balance it. It's a double edged sword you're going to get cut either way.

Its our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Yes, it does make the crime rate go down and yes it does make criminal think twice before committing a crime against someone. Example, Washington DC has some of the highest crime in the United States and they have a gun ban on privately owned weapons there. Criminals know they can break into someones home or rob them and nothing will happen to them. On the flip side, take the state of New Hamshire for instance - crime is low and there are no such things as home invasions. Criminals are afraid to break into someones home out of fear of being killed. Americans dont mess around with their constitutional right to keep and bear firearms.
Some of the worlds worst criminals have been leaders of countries that have gun bans (North Korea, Former Soviet Union and China).

Ok Einstein. I'm not sure where you're from but I am from the USA, I am in law enforcement and I have been in for the better part of 15 years. Oh, by the way, I carry a gun everywhere I go, I carried one before I was a cop and I will carry one after I retire. Yes, the criminals do avoid people that might be carrying a gun - try talking to one of them, they'll admit it. Yes, crime does go down in communities with right-to-carry laws. Yes, crime is up in communities that have limited the average citizens right to carry a gun. Yes, there are crime statistics and professional studies to prove it. Yes, we have sat down with the dirt bag criminals and asked. Before you start insulting someone try educating yourself in the topic you're voicing an uneducated opinion about. Gullible? Us? Get off your arrogant high horse and use the spell checker.
Oh, and the other guy... stop knocking the NRA. Nobody's perfect but the ACLU will protect every single civil right you have BUT the 2nd Amendment. They're hypocritical. The NRA picks up the slack. The NRA's position is SAFE and SANE gun ownership and handling so stop trying to lump them in with the fruit loops we have to deal with every day.

Errrrrr YES !!! And it has been proven in many many cases. The Swiss (adults) are required by law to have a government issued fully automatic assault rifle and 500 rounds of ammo in a safe place in their homes (the civilian Militia). The crime rate is 75% lower than countries and states with strong anti gun laws. When Australia banned all guns in the hands of the public 20 years ago, the crime rate over doubled, home invasions increased by 4, armed robberies by 8.. a great embarrassment to the Parlament...
In a report to congress by the Joint Military Coalition on crime in Iraq the embarrassing fact (censored by the anti gun Washington post) that not counting military and insurgent actions, the street crime rate in Baghdad (where everybody and their dog has an AK-47, grenades, and an RPG in their closet) is lower than that of Washington DC, with it's draconian anti gun laws.
Where have you been getting your information? It is a very bad, very anti gun biased source. Try reading Neil Knox, or American Rifleman, or Shotgun News... get the REAL story.

"So most Americans think (know) they should be (are) allowed to carry guns??? "
Yes. My sensible forefathers guaranteed my right to bear Arms. They knew that when the shithit the fan, the people and communities in the United States of America would need to come together as well formed Militias to defend their Free States and Freedoms.
PS. Every single woman living alone should have a sawed off under the bed.

The Guns help to keep the Human Dignity in a uncivilized society. In 1947 during the Partition of India we saw probably the biggest Massacre of innocent about 5 million were hacked to death in 5 days,we saw Rwanda Somalia,6 Million Jews and many million gypsies and Eastern Europeans were slaughtered by Fascists There was Lynching of Blacks Chinese and Mexicans here in United States.and now look at Dar fur.DO YOU THINK ALL THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THOSE INNOCENT VICTIMS HAD GUNS? Surely there would have been some dead but they would not have died like Dogs but with a Dignity.

Don't know what fantasy land you live in, but here, where I live, it is a right to bear arms as a well regulated militia. We already have the right to bear arms, guaranteed by our Constitution. Is this some brand new revelation for you? We have had firearms since the country was founded...where have you been?
And I can assure you that it is proven in my home that a well armed defense has already deterred an attempt at burglary. Go pester someone else. We have our rights and laws and believe in being responsible for a portion of our own safety. You are peeing into the wind here.

Hell, americans are more concerned the honorable cause about keeping the founding fathers' ideals intact. Trfiles like bringing down the crime rate is far less important.
Also Americans understand the fact that the government (that they elect) is an evil force that is always trying to take liberties away from the people. The greatest duty of Americans is to fight against their own government except when the government attacks and invades other countries

This is the south, Oklahoma, Texas? You think anyone here doesn't have a gun? We have 6' rattlesnakes that live under porches. Our snakes eat baby kittens. We have cattle in upper pastures and we have to bring them down in the winter time or they freeze. Can't even imagine some cowboy going on a cattle drive with out a gun. I don't know of one person who I know that doesn't have a gun and know how to use it. Seen some of these little old ladys bring down a black bear. You guys are sissys.
Bunch of city slickers who don't even know how to ride a horse or have never herded cattle in their life. If someone gave you a gun it would be dangerous.
