Go about as a bonding activity... "I really want to spend some mother daughter time with you. I just feel like I am growing up so fast and don't ever get to just spend time together. Could you show me how to do my make-up so it looks good, like yours?" Even though none of this maybe true, she'll be so excited about you wanting to spend time with her given you are right at that age that every girl is constantly fighting with their mom. If she says no... buy it on your own and apply it at school. Good luck

Wow, I hope you find a way to communicate with your mom. Maybe you should talk to her first about why you are scared to talk to her. Unless she is violent, then I'd advise talking to someone else who has influence with her. Is it a cultural thing? I know some countries, the parents really think you need to be older for make up.
I'd think at your age, you should be able to wear some mild things like the other writer suggested, but don't sneak, it just makes bad feelings and you might sacrifice her trust. This is nothing to ruin your relationship over (or make it worse). And start slowly if you think she might flip, a colored gloss, a soft eye liner....I know it is frustrating when you are young but the day will come when you will be able to wear what you want...you might buy all kinds of things and spend a lot of time at it and one day you will look at all of it and wonder what you were thinking ;-) and you'll go out with a soft gloss and nothing more

Say, "Mom, I'd like to try wearing makeup but I don't want to wear too much or look like Lindsey Lohan after an all-nighter. Would you help me?"

If you open up the dialogue that way, it gives her the opportunity to tell you yes or no and explain why, and it also tells her that you don't want to tramp it up. It also makes it a mother/daughter bonding activity, which I'm betting she's really missing.

ME TOO! I don't want to go to her because i KNOW what she'll say. I told her if she could really notice that i was wearing makeup, it's too much. i think it's really about what you want to put on your face though. it's easier to tell her if you KNOW what you want to get. try some VERY subtle colors in the beginning. i really only wear mascara, eye shadow, and some blush!

Good Luck!

Well when i did, I didnt tell her i just bought it my self. I built it up gradualy because, after all, make up should look natural and it shouldnt look like you have any on. Build it up then she will just probably guess you are wearing it and wont say anything to you about it. Or get your friends to buy you some for christmas/birthday and go
'look mom what ***** got me!!!! Its awesome!! Look at it!!'
Put it on there you go!!

You shouldn't be scared at all. Just talk to her. She will consider herself lucky that her daughter is honest. She'll also feel lucky that you're only bringing up a make up issue and not something life altering like dug abuse or pregnancy.

approach her while she is all alone and make sure you are polite and tell her that you want to start wearin makeup. if she is hesitant let her show you how to wear and and only wear it in moderation at first and let her get used to it.
