Hacking is not illegal in of itself. Hacking is a skill. Hacking is all about knowledge. The better your knowledge the better you will be able to hack.

What you do with that knowledge can make hacking illegal or legal.

For instance hacking your own wireless network to test for vunerablities is legal.

Hacking someone elses network however crosses the line. Believe it or not some forms of hacking don't even take any real skill. Because most people are stupid on computer security. LIke leaving a wireless routers default admin password unchanged.

Hacking...Well...Hmm, maybe you mean obtaining a password? Well this can be done by using a keylogger, software or hardware versions, these are devices or programs that record every keystroke made by the user, and stores it.

As for hacking itself, which I'm not sure of which would mean accessing systems etc. of which you do not have permission to...This would probably be done over a wireless network ?

Hope i've helped you out a little
