There are a couple of things you can do:\
1. Earn a security certification (CompTIA Security+ is the entry level and a good place to start).
2. Don't lie (It will come back to bite you), but take the time to sit down and write out what you are good at and how to stop it. A good plus would be to write a couple of simple apps to view/exploit/collect info that you could demonstrate in an interview. Put this on your resume. I filled a rather large gap in my resume with my own company. i did not work close to 40 hours, but I came up with several good stories and examples of troubleshooting.
3. Do a little volunteer work. Give one or two small non-profit groups (local churches, food banks, homeless shelters) a free or greatly reduced security makeover in exchange for a good reference.

Once you have done these, go to www.dice.com, www.monster.com and craigslist.com (Craigslist is where I got my network admin job at) and do some searching.
