Looking at myself in a mirror as I took an overdose of whatever pills I could find in the medicine cabinet - I was perhaps 4.

Sitting in the back of my grandfathers station wagon. No seat belts, just playing free range in the giant trunk space. Driving down the street to get bubblegum ice cream. I didn't even like the ice cream but I always got it because it looked colorful and had gum in it. That had to have been 15 years ago but I still remember it whenever I see one of the old wooden side station wagons with the big trunk space.

I remember walking behind that white door the most devastating moment of my life. There she laid on the table with yet another sheet from her feet to her neck. Lifeless and no movment. I begged them to do something but they said it was to late.
My mom was pregnet with twins and she died leaving me and my family behind. and taking the twins with her. I will never forget that moment, it is so vivid in my mind because i am not ready to let go of what has happened.
It has been one year and I have not seen her grave, I wont go, at least not now I cant.
And that is the most profound memory

My favorite childhood memories were actually around Christmas time. I remember my dad picking me up from elementary school, and telling me that he was sitting in my cafeteria at lunch time, and I was like "Not ah! What did we have for lunch then???" and he would say "well today we had.... (whatever they were serving)" and I'd be like "OH MY GOD YOU REALLY WERE THERE, how come I didnt see you???" But what really happened was that they would post the schools lunch in the newpaper every day and he would just read it before he came and got me. lol it took me awhile to catch on.
And then I'd get dropped off at home and I'd start making those paper chains out of contruction paper, while my mom played christmas music and baked cookies, then she'd help me hang up the paper chain around the doorway.
Oh and I forgot, earlier that day in school we got to come to class in our pajamas and bring our favorite teddy bear, and we shut off all of the lights and my teacher read us "The Polar Express" while we sat around the classroom drinking hot chocolate.
It's sad that schools are cutting back on Christmas activities because of kids who cant celebrate it for whatever reasons. Its sad to think my kids probably wont be able to enjoy fun stuff like that in school. Every grade I have a different christmas memory....

When I was two years old I was playing and my dad shot a hog in the forehead, hung it from my swingset, cut it's throat and bled it out. He was a farmer. I can't eat pork to this day. I can still hear the sound of the pistol, the grunt of the hog and the sound of the blood spattering in the galvanized tub.

Its hard to remeber alot of things from my childhood.
Im 21 and my Grandmother died when I was 11. I always try to remember her but I think as I get older and time goes by I seem to forget more.
I wish I could remember everything we did so that I could pass those memories to my children!

Okay believe it or not I was three years old. My mother took me to a doctor's office because I had a terrible ear ache. I remember her trying to comfort me telling me to look at the light in the room. When I got to sit on the exam table the doctor poked his instrument in my ear and I kicked him in his ------. Since then I have made my mark in history and all children have to take off their shoes when going for a doctors exam.

I seem to only remember the bad things from my childhood.
I picked up the phone when i was nine and a ladies voice I didn't recognize was on there. I gave the phone to my mom, and she started screaming. Like nothing I had ever seen before. remember it to this day. Her father was shot dead.

As kids in the summertime on the farm we loved throw straw bales down out of the upper barn door (second floor on those big red barns you see) and then when there was sufficient straw we would jump out into the straw. We loved it! Very carefree.
