This question was worth reading about just for the correspondant who said "Don't do anything you may be sorry for later, like suicide!"
Are you all joking, or is this serious?
If you are so depressed that your wife threatens to leave, you need serious help from a doctor and/or psychiatrist.
Find out why you are depressed and fight it.
You can change, and your wife is giving you an opportunity to do so.
If you are seriously depressed, you might need a light mood-changer, or tranquillant.

Don't think you were that depressed if you were arranging a party 2 minutes after she left. I think you are quite sad actually.

Why are you so depressed? What can you do to make yourself better? You do not give much away so hard to say as don't really know what is going on.....

hmm....well dont do anything you will regret latter, like suicide... Its not worth it. And please dont take it personal and try to take it out on her. Its her lose. Let her go and go on with your life! THere are plenty of woman in the world... the ratio of men to woman in the DC area is 10 to 1.. so you are in luck!!! Cheer up and let it go!!

LOL

on the serious side, it sounds like your wife loves excitement and "fun" once the fun stops and someone needs some down time, she splits.

happens all the time.
