and then when I turned it off, and turned it on one more time, then the fan stopped making noise! Is everything ok with my laptop?

Are you saying the fan was running while it was on?
Or are you saying while it was off it was running?
Alot of times LapTops (and some computers) are set up so people will go to turn them off and they only put them to sleep,.. so they are still on... but some people think they are off. Double check if it's really turning off or just sleeping. If you have Microsoft go into Start and Shut it Down,.. Turn it Off. Then in back of your Lap Top there MAY be a switch you can flip,.. try flipping that that should make it 100% off.
