Depends who publishes it and what sort of deal you can cut.

If you publish it, you get all the money. But you also get to pay all the bills, and that can run up pretty fast! The problem with publishing a book yourself is in the marketing. Many major bookstores won't touch self-published books and servicing stores that will handle them gets really costly.
If a publishing company publishes the book, they pay all the bills, they hire someone to design a cover, and design or select the fonts etc. and they market it. They pay you a royalty, which is so many cents per book. If it isn't a best seller, that might not add up to much, but at least it's all yours (well, it's all yours until the tax man comes calling).
There really isn't a number that I can give you -- your book could make $200 or it could make $200,000. It depends entirely on the publishing house and the contract you get with them.
Another factor can be movie rights, paperback rights, and peripheral rights. That's why it's a good idea to have an agent. They take a cut of the proceeds, but they also know the ins and outs of the business and are interested in geting as much money for you as is possible, because the more they get for you, the more they get for themselves.
Good luck with your book.

It depends on how well it sells.
If no one buys it how do you expect to get paid.
If a publishing company reads your book and finds that they really like it and are sure it will sell they might give you an advanced payment of some kind.
Just becaue a book is written and published doesnt mean that it will sell and make any money.
Its like if you make a dozen cookies and want to sell them at a dollar each thats fine you can charge what ever you feel they are worth and if someone buys them you just made 12 dollars but if no one buys them all you have is 12 cookies.
I hope your book turns out to be a best seller because we all have a dream to accomplish at least one thing important to us and it sounds like your book is so I hope your dream comes true and it ends up on the best seller list

Usually if you publish through a publishing house you get a percentage of the sales of the book. You would get an advance against royalties (The amount the publishers think they will be able to recoup) then after that you get a certain amount per book sold. For adult books it is usually between 12-14% for hardcover, and about 8% for paperback. So that means that you get about 12% of the price for every hardcover copy of your book sold.

If you had a publisher handle the mass marketing of the book, you have to split the money made between yourself, your agent, and the publishing company. Usually that way, you on the average make one dollar a book sold. So if you sell a million books, you make a million dollars. If you sell 5,000 books, you make $5,000.

It would depend on if anyone actually bought it. I think you actually have to pay to even have things published though.
