Just south of the Aleutian islands in Alaska... (The islands that stretch towards Asia.) The trench, and hence the islands, are created by the subduction between the pacific and North American plate.

Aren't the Aleutian Mtns. in the West? Like, near the Rockies? That would be my guess... the trench would be near the mountains... in the Western US.

The AT is actually the boundary for the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate.
It lies west of Alaska running towards the west.
