I was at my office doing my Christmas cards and I used the postage machine there. (.39 cents). I was wondering, if for any reason something got returned would they return it to my return address or track the stamp (from the postage machine) and return it to there?

They would return it to your return address. They would only track down the postage machine, if some government agency wanted it traced for an illegal active like drugs or terrorism they could care less about you using the companies postage. The machine prints a traceable number on the stamp it produces.

Yes, the serial number of the postage meter is imprinted with the postage stamp. For 39 cents, do you really think the post office is going to contact Pitney Bowes? It'll go to the return address, of course.

they will return it to the return address that you provided on the envelope. They can track the postage meter, but that is only the method used to pay for the postage. They will not return it to the meter, they will return it to the return address. If there is no return address given, it will most likely go to "lost mail" because it cant be returned, and the addressee is no longer at the address.

and you have your priorities in the present day. those machines at the instant are too complicated for me. i will function paper, yet while they're broken or jammed I back away slowly and fake I under no circumstances observed something. this is like witnessing a mob hit.

I believe it prints a number identifying the machine. Doubt they would try to track it down.
