Your first step is to realize that
log [base b] (a^c) = c * log [base b] (a)
Translation: Whenever you have a power within a log, you can take that power out and tack it onto the back of the log as a multiplier.
log(x^7) - log(y)
Now, remember this log property:
log [base b](a/c) = log[base b](a) - log[base b](c)
That's what we do for the above case. It now becomes a single log.
log[(x^7)/(y)]

If you don't know how to do a simple math problem like this, how are you going to pass your final or understand the basics of the next math level.
Math is very cumulative. You won't be able to advance unless you truly understand the basics.
