an aquarium...(garage sales) or more than one aquarium if you can't find one large enough
if you feel ballsy you could get some plexi-glass and build something of your own design and custom fit for your kitchen.
i once worked on a home that had a very large plexi-glass herb garden in the kitchen (the kitchen was a large as the house i live in, about 1500 sq ft, and the herb garden was 12'X14' and about 15' high, with built in step ladder of pickled oak and shelves and all kinds of cool stuff), ofcourse the owners of that house had more money than God.

googled kitchen garden and there's tons of info out there

you don't specifically say you want to garden physically in your kitchen
if you do how about an extended window?
or even just an attached planter to your window

"window gardening easy, because everything is included that you need to get started growing. All you have to do is add water.
Each set includes four window garden cans. You can choose one of each, or four of the same product, or however you'd like."

By filling the balcony, if there is one next to the kitchen, with potted plants if you are in a flat, or doing so in the backyard next to the kitchen if you are in a house!
