I've driven one as a rental car. I liked it, but it's smaller than my Saturn Vue. I don't think I'd buy one. Not enough interior storage for me. But I do like it better than the Pt Cruiser

They are five star safety rated, get great fuel economy, and are well rated by JD Powers and Associates for initial quality. The natural frequency of the vehicle is 27 hertz which makes for a very long lived body structure. The Eco Tech engine produces 145 horsepower and the vehicle handles well. The HHR is very moderately priced and come with a Genuine GM 100,000 mile warranty. What is not to love?

Edmunds.com said that while the interior had an interesting design, material and fit and finnish was still sub-par. Plus they recorded a dissapointing mid 9 second 0-60 time.

I own a 06 LT1(Daytona Blue) I love the car, I have over 20,000 miles on it and have not had a single problem as of yet. Very quiet inside and comfortable seats too.

it is a Consumer Reports recomended vehicle, so it cant be too bad. and Automobile Magazine said its not as cute as a PT Cruiser, but way more thought out than a Scion xB
