and I love it when those Christians go from house to house and come knocking on your door and trying to convert you. it's hilarious!

And when I say "No, I don't go to church anymore because I don't believe in most of the church's beliefs" they say "Well you are going to HELL! You must be baptized to cleanse your sins away!" and I said "Ladies, I'm already in hell. It can't get much worse"

I stopped going to church because religion is man made. I don't put people down or try to convert them because I have different beliefs. I do pray but I don't go to church. I'm spiritual.

You do not have to be in a religion to be spiritual person.

And the church I used to go to when I was a gullible kid said that premarital sex is a sin, not baptizing a baby will make them go to purgatory, etc........

I don't go to church either. I don't consider myself religious because religion is man made. There is no religion that is better than the other one.
I don't put down people who don't agree with my beliefs and I don't like it when people put me down because they try to convert me.
Good for you for talking to those ladies like that. I don't want salespeople interupting my sanctuary.

I don't get mad and I definitely am not going to knock on your door. I am a Christian, I do believe in God, but I don't go to church. I believe that God is with me where ever I go and I don't have to step across a tax-free building's threshold to celebrate that fact.

Edit: I am like you. I am spiritual and not at all religious. Spirituality is something you feel. Religion is something you teach. And I don't believe I need someone telling me what I am supposed to feel.

And to Peach--your name fits you perfectly.

Ummmm....wow, okay. I have never met a Christian that acted like that. Jesus would not have condoned that kind of behavior. We are supposed to tell you Gods Word and the Truth but to get mad or tell you that you are going to hell, that is not what the Bible says to do. It is also not up to the individual Christian to judge or condemn you, that is Gods job. I am sure hell is much, much worse than pretty much anything this life can dish out. I will pray for you and that you receive proper guidance in the future.

To Micheangelo below: I never said that he was Christian. You need to read more carefully before trying to discredit another users answer.

I am definitely not Jesus, that is blasphemy. I know this because I have faith in God and His Word. The bible was written by men who were inspired by God and His ultimate Wisdom. It is all about faith my brother. Sometimes you either have it or you dont.

Why are you so angry? As for the money issue, yes a lot of churches do try to capitalize. But I know that many churches are just trying to pay their bills. At my dads church, the pastor works full time job and is the pastor in the evenings and Sundays. He is not in this for personal gain, he is doing what God told him to do.

I was talking about the Christians that came to his door and yelled at him. Not him. Read my answer again after reading the question.

We could go on with this debate all day.

We are all brothers and sisters whether or not you choose to believe it is your choice. God gave us free will.

As I stated before, I was referring to the "Christians" that were yelling at him and condemning him. I have never met a Christian that acted like that.

As for refuting your arguments, that would be impossible. Not because you are right or I am right, it is just what you believe and wwhat I believe. I cannot change what you believe just maybe provide a different perspective as you can provide for me. We will just have to agree to disagree. I have the same debate with my atheist mother.

If you say so. I don't argue with her just debate. Besides, i trust and believe what the Bible says. How much have you read in it? That is why I can't argue with you. You do not believe in the Bible, all of my statements come from there. Yours are from society.

If you feel that you have won, that is fine. I hope that maybe you will pick up the Bible and read for yourself what I am saying.

Thanks for an interesting conversation Michelangelo. Wish you well and God Bless You.

I have never had a Christian get mad at me for not going to church. I know it confuses them why we don't.

As for the people trying to spread their religion...I admire their passion for something they believe in, and I just explain I am not interested...but thanks for the interest.

well some people think its ok to be all up in other peoples buissiness!!! which its not. im agnostic and it is kinda funny to watch people trying to convert me, because im going to hell with all the athiests and other "bad" people. who is telling them that im going to hell, how do they know that hell exists? why should we believe people who claim to hear or see god, can we classify them as crazies? im not trying to put anyone down, im just trying to show you my point of veiw.

edit
for an example use peach (above) how does she know if Jesus would have condoned that behavior? is she Jesus? No i think not, its just a man made statement. and how do you know if this guy is christian when he never said he was.

and another thing that gets me is that all these bibles arent written by god or jesus like most belive, they are written by humans.

edit
and another thing, most churches just have their palms out for money, is that right? i dont think so, they shouldnt be like "oh you gave us money your going to heaven" and "oh shame on you, you didnt give us money... its been decided, i spoke to the big man upstairs and he agreed that your going to HELL"

edit
oh and peach, if your supposed to share gods word and all that, how do you know, is it in the bible? well guess what hun, that wasnt written by god, that was written by a person, and by doing as that person says you are giving them power to rule the world.

edit
to peach (above) i wasnt trying to discredit you, just trying to share my opinion. and to your statement about how you never said he was christian, from this statement "I have never met a Christian that acted like that." it sounds like your implying he is a christian. so stop trying to discredit me.

edit
to peach again, first i am not your brother and i am not angry. yes there are SOME preechers and pastors etc that arent in it for personal gain. but did i mention that money going to the pator, no i didnt, read more carefully. i said that it was going to the church. and for the bible remark, they wrote these "books" (thats all they are, books) on their own will, they didnt have your god helping them, they wrote stories to fill this book with.

edit
to peach
i was actually in debate so i wouldnt mind going on with this, you implied that the asker of this question was christian (i hope i am clearing this up for you) i drop that argument. but can you refute all mine? i think i have successfully refuted all of your arguments. you actually dropped the arg. on how you would know whether jesus would condone that behavior.

edit
again you drop all but one of my args. and im not your brother, we arent blood related so yea. so if we are all brothers and sisters does that mean you will be screwing your brother when you get married?(if you arent already)

edit
actually you can refute my args. just give info that is pro for what you believe that goes against what i believe, really fun!!! tell your mom hi. and you really shouldnt argue with your parents!!! so in a way you forfeit because i never will and never have agreed to disagree!!! so i win this debate.

edit
yea.... no. dont think i will ever pick up that book and read it, dont get me wrong i love books, just not that one.

edit
nice conversation peach, just dont say god bless to me thank you for your time, that was really interesting!!!

edit
peach i was the one to give you a thumbs up for the interesting debate
