Just recently, my computer has been having trouble with playing music from CDR's, mp3 discs, and even regular-old audio CD's. What happens is no matter which media player I use, it skips very quickly and spastically at completely random times. Sometimes I'll hear a double-hit on the drums and it just irks me because of how frequent this happens... I want to listen to music on my computer and have it sound normal again! Any suggestions are welcome, so thanks in advance :)

I'm thinking it might be the CD drive (which sucks, because my computer is brand new), but also - Can this problem lie in my system's resources by any chance?

you may want to replace your CD player, depending on how old it is. if it's new or still under warranty, take it in and have it looked at. your problem definitely sounds like the CD player.
