I'm trying to play a couple of games at work while it is slow but I can't connect because I'm assuming port 43594 is closed to TCP traffic. Is there any way to open that, or get around that somehow without admin status? Our network is monitored by a company called Websense I believe. And the proxy port is 8080.

The proxy port 8080 tells you it all...

Port 80 (8080) is the HTTP port, basically it is telling you that that is all you have access to!

As your company uses an external company to manage the firewall you will not get round this - do what your boss wants, work at work and play at home.

As a network manager and a co-author of our network policy, I can tell you that you would be flirting with a loss of your job by bypassing network security that has been implemented on your network. The policies are in place to not only protect the company, but to protect the computers in the LAN.

If you are found out, I can guarrantee you that you will be dismissed on the grounds of violating company policies.

The administrator has set a password so no you can't change the privileges. Even if you were successful you will end fired from your position. The administrator will know exactly when it happened and from which PC it came from.

You may want to try Torpark - it's a web browser based on mozilla firefox which will allow you not only to have a new IP address as it routes your connection through other computers. It also allows you to bypass some work / school filters as well.

There's links and also a great walkthrough with a step by step guide: http://walkthroughwizard.info/
