I'm looking to buy someone in my family a prepaid cell phone for X-mas. The criteria are below:

1. To be used in the San Francisco Bay Area.
2. Will use less than 100 minutes per month
3. Doesn't need to port an existing number.

I looked at T-Mobile, which has 1000 minutes good for a year for $100. However, I know she doesn't get coverage at her current home from T-Mobile. What would be another good choice? Price is paramount. Prefer a plan where minutes don't expire quickly. Thanks!

Neither of the 2 answers so far are very attractive. Both end up costing about as much as regular plans, or minutes expire way too soon.

So far, the best option I've discovered is 7-Eleven's SpeakOut plan, which uses the Cingular network, and has 20 cents per minute, and a $1 a month charge. The minutes do not expire for at least a year also.

look at web page Plus prepaid they help you take advantage of any Verizon telephone so opportunities are extreme you could get one loose or lower priced from someone you comprehend, or purchase one on eBay truly lower priced, Walmart has digital camera phones for $40 .....web page Plus costs are the most inexpensive, you in elementary words pay for your minutes 6¢ to 12¢ each and each and every or texts 4¢ to eight¢ each and each and every, a thanks to do that is to purchase an $80 minutes card each and every 4 months, that provides you with the most inexpensive costs, or you could only purchase $10 playing cards once you want them.
