Algebra question?

I'm having difficulties with this question it isn't checking out any help is greatly appreciated!

–3(10x – 3) + 10(3x – 3) = x – 7

-30x + 9 + 30x - 30 = x - 7 ( by distributive property )
-30x + 30x - x = -7 - 9 + 30 (combining like terms)
-x = 14 (adding/ subtracting)
x = -14 (by multiplying both sides by negative)

to check, replace all x by -14 like
–3(10x – 3) + 10(3x – 3) = x – 7
–3(10(-14) – 3) + 10(3(-14)– 3) = -14 – 7
-3 (-140 - 3) + 10 (-42 - 3 ) = -21
-3 (-143) + 10 (-45) = -21
429 + (-450) = -21
-21 = -21

Try doing this "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. If you do everything in that order from left to right, you should be able to find the right answer. Just remember that if you do something on one side you have to do it on the other too. If all else fails, look in your book and try a similar problem. An easier one might help you figure out how to do the problem you are stuck on.
