trouble follows trouble....don't rob anyone and you won't have to find out! ;)

The Bible forbids premeditated murder, but not killing in self-defense, or other special cases where society puts someone to death or there is a war etc. But it gets complicated when you're at fault for putting yourself in harms way, right? Now, it's not *just* self-defense any more is it....now you're not completely free from guilt because this guy was robbing/trying to kill YOU. So depending on the situation, maybe you're guiltier than you would have been otherwise. The moral of the story is crime doesn't pay.

Yes! Killing is a so called sin. It is usually an act of desperation often caused by a mistake by the one who does the killing. In other words, none of us are without sin. Jesus certainly said it clearly talking about his defense of a woman who was about to be stoned to death. Jesus said and I paraphrase, He who has no sin throw the first stone. In other words, humans do not have the right to kill others at any time. But, there are times when we do not have a choice.
We can kill others in that case, but it is called, justifiable homicide. You killed, but there was a reason that fit the crime. Or, a justification for your actions. But, at the same time, it was in the words of the truly religious, a sin.
You can take this point to defense of the homeland and capital punishment. They are also sins. Yes, the person may be a legitimate member of a defense force, or someone who wants to experience a sense of justice and possibly revenge by having a killer executed for his or her crime.
It is still a sin to kill. Thou shalt not Kill!

Acording to the Torah no it is not. Your life always comes frist. Besides this Bibilcal idea, I feel strongly that in MOST cases you must save your own life. What I personally quetion is if you have to decide in you or someoen you loves must die. Then I don't know. However, based on your question, certainly not a sin.

I am not for certain but I do know one thing, It says in the bible Thou Shalt not kill, it does not imply any acceptances, We are only human and by nature we will defend ourselves, but I think if that happened there would be a definite need to repent your sin.
