There are legal limits which vary all over the world.
In my house, my kids knew that if they "went all the way" before high school graduation they were going to be in big trouble! My friends told me I was crazy to think that I could expect that, but I did, and I told my kids exactly why, and they respected it. (I'm pretty sure they waited until after graduation, too.) Of course, it helps that the driving age in NJ (where we lived at the time) was 17 and then 18. Having to chauffeur the kids around makes it much easier for a parent to know where they are and who they're with!
