have found the length to be 5.2 cm . Did this mistake cause her lab group to calculate a higher or lower molar volume than it should have?

The final calculation in this lab would be dividing the vol. of gas by the moles of H2 produced. Moles of H2 are the same as moles of Mg used. If 5.0cm was used instead of 5.2 the final calculation (vol/mol) would mean you are dividing by a number that is too small producing a molar volume that is too big.

ex. 56/1.0 instead of 56/1.4
