if she has really good skin then she doesn't need any foundation or anything. oil-absorbing powder will just do for getting rid of a shiny nose or t-zone. get covergirl freshlook powder in the silver-y circular pressed powder compact.
get her either a dark brown or black eyeliner. wet 'n' wild or nyc eyeliners are 99 cents each but break easily and are hard to sharpen. i find that rimmel soft khol kajal eyeliner are the absolute BEST and its $1.99 at walmart or $2.49 at target. walgreens and ulta are around the same price.
maybelline great lash mascara in brown is also another staple for the makeup bag (black is too harsh for her blonde hair and hazel eyes. plus she's only 14). its usually $3 or so in just about every drugstore. i use rimmel super extra lash mascara and its only $1.99 at target and works just as well.
if she doesn't have curly eyelashes, get her a trim eyelash curler for $1 and something in most every drugstore.
hmmm get her a quad or duo eyeshadow from just about any drugstore brand. i like covergirl, maybelline, and rimmel. or u can get her a bonnebell eyestyle shadow box. they have really pretty shades that are sheer enough for a girl at her age. its usually around $3 but it isn't in every drugstore. its in ulta though.
and lipgloss instead of lipstick works very well for her lips at that age. get her a clear lipgloss or a lipgloss with a sheer tint of color. bonnebell lip smacker is fun and works well. she can also go out and have some fun buying her own after the one u give her runs out. dont forget to tell her to put on chapstick or lip balm before lipgloss!
thats about all that she needs when it comes to makeup.
don't forget to tell her when to throw expired makeup away! mascara after 3 months tops or when it starts to smell bad and get all clumpy. powder eyeshadow and face powder after a year or when it gets all glazed (dont get her creamy liquidy eyeshadow- its harder to put on and gives u creases). lipgloss, chapstick, and lip balm after a year. eyeliner after a year.
btw, thats so sweet of u to help her with makeup tips and stuff! dont forget to tell her that she doesn't need to wear it everyday and to embrace her natural youthful beauty! tell her that makeup isn't for hiding ur natural beauty- its to enhance wat beauty u already have! :]
have fun and good luck finding everything (it shouldn't be hard. all the stuff i recommend can be found in the makeup aisle at just about any drugstore or target and walmart and ulta).

That's so cute! I would put in a pretty pink shimmer eyeshadow, a gold-tone shimmer eyeshadow, and a green shimmer eyeshadow. Then some sort of pretty highlighter or bronzer (not blush), a basic mascara (maybelline great lash), and a cute clear or pink lipgloss. She probably doesn't wear eyeliner yet, but maybe a simple dark brown liner would be fun. Something fun like some glitter, too? And maybe a fun nail polish or two. Put it all in an adorable makeup bag with an eyeshadow brush and a blush brush for the highlighter/bronzer. Have fun shopping!

Hello, I only do causal photography, but I can still give you my $.02... There will always be the Nikon vs Canon debate, and I personally believe that both make excellent cameras. The Nikon D40 is a really nice and inexpensive digital SLR. If you go to a higher level Nikon camera, you will notice more of a "pro" feel, rather than the more consumer friendly features of the D40. (even though it looks quite pro to the average person) As far as lenses, the simplest way to start would be something like a 55-200mm zoom lens and 18-55mm wide-angle lens. This gives you coverage all the way from wide to a decent zoom. I would also consider a 50mm f/1.8 lens. This kind of lens won't allow zoom, but it has a wider aperture which will allow you to take better non-flash pictures in low light. One thing to always keep in mind is that the lens is ultimately what will have the biggest effect on your photos. Also consider a couple of filters such as a UV (cheap, and protects your lens) and a polarizer (great for bright sunlight)

That's such a cute idea! I would definitely recommend including:
*mascara
*a trio-set of neutral eyeshadows (Wet N Wild Egyptian Sands is really pretty)
*a daily moisturizer with SPF 15
*a powder compact (Cover Girl has great ones in formulas for all different skin types)
*a flattering neutral lipstick
*a couple shades of pretty lipgloss
Some other things you might want to include are:
*a light coverage foundation (Cover Girl makes some great ones for young girls)
*eyelash curler (Revlon has the best)
*pencil eyeliner in black or brown
*more dramatic eyeshadow for parties or special occasions
*blush/bronzer
I don't think you need to go overboard getting her everything she could possibly need. Most people build their makeup collections over time, plus you don't want to encourage her to wear too much makeup, just to accentuate her natural beauty.

All she needs is sunblock, makeup remover, brown mascara, a pale pink eyeshadow (up to the browline) and a taupe/light brown eyeshadow (blended along the lashline)--all with the appropriate brushes (one eyeliner brush, one larger eyeshadow brush) Oh, and an excellent cleanser (go with sensitive-skin formulas, they're less drying) and a decent moisturizer (oil-free). Lip gloss helps; I like L'Oreal's glosses in a tube--they smell good, stay on the lips for a fair amount of time and come in a ton of different shades.

get her some powder, a brush set, light blush (not too heavy), mascara, a basic eye shadow pallete with her favorite colors, and some lip gloss.
since she is 14 make sure not to go too overboard with dark colors. she wont need a heavy foundation or concealer as long as her skin is good and she doesnt have any dark circles. make sure to keep the colors for eyeshadow light and fun and get her a slighly colored lip gloss that goes with the blush. as for the brush set get her a cute one with everything in it, she will treasure this for a long time, shell love this even when she starts using darker more mature makeup.

I would start with mascara, pressed powder (if she needs coverage) 2 or 3 complimentary eyeshadows (try Mary Kay Hazelnut, crystalline and sugarplum or java). Also a lipgloss or two would be great. My favorite gift ever was a make-up set with brushes.... Get a good set that won't fall apart on her!

Basic stuff is sunblock, lip gloss, blusher, mascara(can skip this since maybe she's too young for it) and some pen type eyeshadow.Good skin doesn't need concealer and foundation at all, that's what my makeup artist say.Sunblock is essential, and blusher and lipgloss make any face look brighter!

i would give her powder compact, blush (neutral), variety of eyeshadows(browns and pinks and stuff cuz of her hazel eyes) mascara(you can always buy a brown macara cuz black may be to bold) eyeliner(but not black way to harsh) and some really pretty lipglosses(not lipstick) 8)
