I believe it sent a message to our government that people will not take tyranny and oppression lying down. That there comes a time to fight for what is morally right. Even if the government says it wrong and says their laws are right.

I think in this case it worked pretty well.

Civil Disobedience Movement against the British rule in India has nothing to do the Civil Rights Movement. The latter was a movemnt for achievemnt of civil liberties, commencing from John Locke, a political philosopher, the details of which are given in this site.

It was very important to the Civil Rights Movement. People made points by disobeying laws that opressed people without hurting any one. Many points were made when people were being civil while disobeying the laws that were racist and it made the country look at things that needed to change and how can you hate some one when they are not being violent but remaining calm in the issues they are addressing and at the same time while they remain calm people were commiting violent acts against them.
