Each individual person will answer this differently because of their maturity level, but for myself, I push myself almost everyday to learn something new and I have always been one to ask questions even as a child.
You have to remember, though, that some people are okay with mediocrity because it holds them just below the radar of being responsible for their own actions and behaviors.
I believe ignorance is grown from fear and the lack of motivation to do the right things all of the time.

Well isn't that obvious? Admit you're ignorant firstly, don't suppress it but acknowledge it. Even Socrates admitted he was ignorant, but he is the father of enlightenment. To enhance ones power of questioning, of course (as others said) you need to Listen, but that can only be done if the right questions are asked, so there is a big piece missing to that answer. Questions are based on what we know and what we wish to know; to enhance your power of questioning, first enhance your knowledge and your curiosity, both without partiality, bias, or prejudice. Voila.

On analysing details- During the work, you have to be sure that you haven't left any holes, that you've captured everything, because afterwards it will be too late.A man who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle himself away!Listen we are approaching a new age of synthesis..Knowledge cannot be merely a degree or a skill....it demands a broader vision-capability in critical thinking and logical deduction without which we cannot have constructive progress.

Have you not heard that the only stupid question is one that is unasked? This site has proved that to be untrue. Read. Think. Ask honest questions that you want honest answers to.
