I remember when I was 16 years old. Food was free and you could even take it home if you wanted too, and when it closed up you could bring food home for free. It ain't like that anymore, you have to pay for your meal and when it's time to close up the food has to be thrown away, no one can have it. If you take it home even though it's going in the trash can anyway. It's stealing. What's up with the fast food corporations now? Are they really hurting that bad by the economy that they have to go to these measures?

It is pure greed. The company has become greedy and give less and less. It absolutely absurd that they can throw food in the trash when it can be given away to the very people who work there. Now THAT should be considered a crime.

There's something called "abuse" that the companies are trying to prevent.
I worked in fast food for 7 years and all my employees had 1 free meal/day but at the end of the day they used to make burgers and cook food 15-20 mins before closing so they can take it home and it was getting out of control. So i really cant blame the new companies' policies.

I have worked fast food since 85, I have always had to pay half price. for my meals until I became management.
As far as taking home food.
It is stealing
and also considered a health issue.

wow...no free meal
i remember having to pay 25 cents..but i made $40 a week
and the food thing..shame too but that has to do with food contamination./.not being packed properly/ room temp/ etc.
my son-in-law is allowed any meal he wants for free but he has to put it in writing on a ledger.. (inventory thing his boss keeps and the boss doesn't care what they eat)
so it's the company policy and..such. .. i would allow the food and make certain it was done cleanly rather than stolen..

It is out of this world. There are so many starving people. They should consider donating it each night to a shelter. Its better than throwing it away...and these idiots wonder why people dumster dive for food. If I was hungry, I think I would do it too. Hopefully change will come, because it is sooooo wasteful.

As time goes by - companies get cheaper and give less benefits to employees. It is the cold hard direction life is going - it makes me sad. If anyone wants to complain about their jobs -there is a site I found - link is below.
