The fact that you'd want to kill the cast and crew shows that his portrayal may not be too far off the mark. Civilized people don't kill others simply because they were made fun of.

Sasha created a character who came from a country most people had never heard of (I was embarrassingly surprised that it was such a large country). Originally the idea of Borat was to portray how Americans treat people from other countries. The very fact that people don't know where Kazakhstan IS let alone anything about its culture is what fueled the character and the skits. It was more a statement on America than it was on Kazakhstan. The movie, I'll give you, does portray these people in a negative light. My guess is that it was a way to appeal to a wider audience than Da Ali G show did. If anything, you should be angry with all of us Americans who flocked to theaters to see it!

Freedom is speech is a right in this county, murder isn't. Just because Sacha Baron Cohen said something offensive about your heritage, I still don't see what gives you the right to take violent action. They are words, and you are a big boy, so take it like a man.

I enjoyed the movie immensenly (except for the nude fight sceen), even though the man said things that could offend me. I believe he was most critical about Jewish people (and Cohen is Jewish).

I can see why it'd make you mad. He does cuss out Uzbekistan a couple of times.
He's making fun of everybody in that movie, though mostly Americans. It can be very offensive. But nothing to kill anyone over.

The real joke of the movie is on Americans who believe that these Kazakhs and Uzbeks can exist! (Quote, Sacha Baron Cohen)
