I would think that education coupled with experience would be the best answer.

Employers like education and experience both, but in reality it is easier for someone with no experience to be taught to do things the way an employer wants it done than to unteach old habits from previous employers.

A good education will make you EMPLOYABLE. That's good, and it will pay the bills. There are people making 20k a year, living paycheck to paycheck and there are Phd's earning 200k a year living paycheck to paycheck.

Experience will teach you how business works. To bring in the most money, you should not be an employee. There's an old saying that the C students end up hiring the A students.

I graduated from Purdue University in 1983 (that's a pretty good school) I worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer for 9 years and made enough money to feed myself. I've been a Realtor now for 14 years, and nobody asks if or where I went to college. This job requires six weeks of real estate school and passing the state license exam. Clients want to know my real estate experience. And as long as I'm able to work, I can earn OK. Recently, I started distributing a nutritional supplement called USANA. I work in a network of people, some who never graduated high school. I expect that this business is the one that will bring me the most financial success.

Education (learning how things work), coupled with experience (practicing how things work) along with hard work will bring in the most money possible.

Just enough education to make you eligible, and lots of experience.
