this thesis is for my master degree which i really want to get. but i don't understand what my professor wants. i was working with another one before this but because of the same problem i had to switch to another first reader. now that my new first reader is telling me the same, i don't know what to do. it seems that i can't do anything but to quit my master degree. if you were me would you do the same?

If you've had two readers telling you the exact same thing over and over again, I have to suspect that what they are telling you is very important and you are not quite making the changes they hope to see.

Have you tried asking other professors that you are close to? I don't mean that you should ask them to be your first reader, but just ask them to take a look at it, hear their suggestions, then tell them what these other two profs said and ask for a comment from them. It might help.

I don't know if she'll read this, but I'm curious what msmojo's master's is in. I considered an online master's; I also considered a program that only required a practicum, but no PhD program will take you without a thesis.

Actually, I took the route of obtaining my Master's degree online from the University of Phoenix. The program I was in did not require a Master's thesis, we had to write a paper that entailed us using everything we had learned in every class throughout the 2 year program to write a paper. We were all given the same topic, we did not have to choose one. Your grade came from how well you were able to encompass your thoughts on that topic and master your knowledge learned.

So much easier and it was so much fun as well!!!! I enjoyed every minute of my two years!!!!!
