Here are some very short answers with Berlin - I'll tell a bit more: The best one in is at Gendarmenmarkt (with a nice program - visit http://www.gendarmenmarktberlin.de/ - but it's one euro entrance and usually very crowded) the second best is next to Unter den Linden - Opernpalais, next to the State Opera; another nice one is in Spandau Old Town. And, sorry - the one at Breitscheidplatz is not that good!
In whole Germany there are nicer ones in Nuremberg (as said very crowded), Dresden and Lubeck!

well, all the other answers have hit the most known and legendary ,so I say that if your over ther in this time of year you can pretty much hit any major town and come across a Christmas Market. buy some glass pickles!!

Nuernberg is great but really crowded on weekends. Another lovely one is the one in Frankfurt. Make sure to drink some hot 'Feuerzangenbowle'
