Yesterday, I was trimming split ends off of my friend's hair, and I guess I cut off more than I was supposed too, because this morning, she messaged me and tells me that I had cut off more than her likings; I cut off hair layers, and made it shorter. She says it's okay and tells me not to worry about it, because she'll cut it herself to even it out and all, but I can tell that she's angry at me (but then again, who wouldn't be?). I feel horrible enough, because she had put her trust into me, yet I screwed it over.

What can I do to make it up to her?
I told her that I will pay for her next haircut at the salon, but she declined, and I can't think of anything else I can do to make it up to her. :-\

You've done what you could. The hair can't be put back on. I think offering to pay for her next hair cut and an apology was enough. Don't be so hard on yourself. If she stays mad at you it's her fault and not yours.

I ruined a friend's hair. I put in a relaxer and she wanted it to sit longer than it should, and then her hair fell out. I felt HORRIBLE. I just think all you can do is offer an apology. You offered to pay for her next cut, I think that is very generous. Don't worry you both just learned a lesson, you won't be cutting her hair again.

Maybe you should just apologize over and over again, but if she was a great friend I think she would understand... Maybe this Christmas you can buy her something extra special. Paying for her next trip to the hair salon, is a good idea, but if she keeps saying no, then let it be.... friends usually understand. The best advice i can give you is just buy something EXTRA special for Christmas or just a normal gift!

I did the same thing when I was younger and my friend just said "Oh well, I can grow my hair back but I can't grow a friend back." Just relax it sounds like you're making more out of this than you need to.

You seem more worried than she does. Pick her up and take her to a salon and you pay for it. Then maybe treat her to a meal, make up and don't worry about it any more. If she is a good friend, that is all it will take.

Hair isn't a limb. It'll grow back. You apologised, I think that's all she was looking for when she texted you. So don't fret! The more you make it into a problem the more the problem will grow.

I wouldn't worry to much over it, yes I am sure you feel bad, but you are not even a licensed to cut hair. she needs to blame herself not you!!
