Sitting in a bean bag by my parents' wood stove sipping on a mug of spice bush tea with lots of sugar...reading each of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books during Christmas vacation in elementary school. Ah, bliss.

A little log cabin on the prairie, with a wood burning stove inside and the wide openness of the land outside. Cold frosty mornings, and warmth from the fireplace inside. Family love and trials and tribulations. One horse-open sleighs. Simpler times, but hard times.
People helping their neighbors. Sounds to me like heaven here on earth.
I would love a log cabin, but in the mountains here in Nevada, by a stream, and among the pines and quaken aspen and the cedar(juniper) trees and mahogany. Lots of wild berries. My dream home.

I love that show and still watch it when I can. My favorite character is Albert. I loved the show where he pretended to be blind so he didn't have to go back to his real father and work on his farm. That's the only reason the Dad wanted him back. And I liked the Christmas show where Laura sold her horse to buy Ma a stove and Mary sewed Pa a shirt - same as what Ma did.
Good classic series. And a good question.

...most boring on the prairie...
Michael Landon was such a good actor as Little Joe in Bonanza. He didn't carry the script over for this new broken down shack on the hillside show...Ugh...super boring...hated it...

A lot of the characters in the T.V. show were not in the book. I still like it!
