will the president listen to the Iraq Study Group or will he let his pride, lack of intelligence, and arrogence get in the way?

He may LISTEN but he probably won't HEAR. The people he's had around him thus far in his Presidency aren't very good at bipartisanship. They are all hard core war monger Republicans that until now haven't been forced to take a fresh look at things.

I am willing to bet he is a lot smarter than you are. Do you find it funny that the report does not mention the words war or victory or did you even read it? I don't think that a report from any group that mentions trying to talk with Iran or Syria is serious or intelligent enough to even think about considering. Iran is partially responsible for what is going on in Iraq to begin with and have no intentions of doing anything that would result in anything better than the defeat of the United States.

The Iraq Study group is on his side. They recommend actions in favor of acquiring the oil. Yes, they said the invasion and occupation was a failure, but they want the troops to be redeployed WITHIN Iraq to help manage Iraq's oil for private international corporations.

This plays right into Bush's original goals, but the gloves are velvet.

Still, this is NOT what the American voters wanted. They want the troops home NOW.

I'm afraid this is part of Bush's thought process. If Bush withdraws the troops from Iraq, he loses the war. If he keeps them there until the next President takes office, the next President can be blamed for losing the war.

Bush will not listen because of his massive arrogence. He really believes he can do or say ANYTHING because we are in a war he started and he is Commander-in-Chief. All he cares about is the oil. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Period.

Hopefully, no. The group based it's decision on opinion and not what is best. Only a clear cut (not the same as cut and run as suggested by the democrats) victory and a decisive victory, will be needed to achieve peace.
