No I do the opposite with mine.I don't label toys boy or girl toys if my daughter wanted to play with hot wheel I let her and if my son wants to play with dolls I let him.I taught my son how to cook. And my daughter how to work on cars. And do you know what I have ended up with? two very well rounded kids whom any parent would be pround of.

I don't know where you are going with this question. But I do acknowledge my children’s different personalities. I have a “good kid” a “problem child” and an “easygoing kid.” Based on their personalities I know what I can and can’t do with them. I know I can take my good kid anywhere and not have a problem; he is very well behaved and easily entertained. I know that my problem child needs some distractions to keep out of trouble, like coloring books, toys, etc. or he has to be an active participant in the activity like shopping or something. I also know that I can’t have him out for a long period of time so I have to schedule things accordingly; otherwise I have to make sure I have a baby sitter or am going somewhere that has childcare available. I know that my easygoing kid (baby) is easy to take care of, doesn’t cry unless he is hungry, so I know that I can take him anywhere even the movies or church and not have to worry about a sitter because he doesn’t cry or make noises, he just sits contently and falls asleep when he’s sleepy. So yes, I guess I stereotype my children and treat them accordingly. But regardless I make sure to give them equal love and attention.

Every parent wants their children to have more opportunity and a better life than what we had.
