Where can I find software to help produce a cartoon strip?

I'm looking for a software program that I can download that will allow me to produce a comic strip with similar results as the Order of the Stick comic found at
http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0387.html


I plan on making up short comics about my own character, and posting the image up on my Myspace blog, but I need the software to do it.


Paint won't produce results that are consistant, I'm hopeless with Photoshop, and Flash animations go over my head. I want a program that is free to download and easy for a beginner to use.

I'm not looking for a program that will turn photos into a comic. I'm looking for something that will allow me to create it from scratch like Paint can.

Edit: you don't have to use photos. All it wants are jpg files, bmp, and png files and you can compress ANY image to these files types. You just have to create the images beforehand and drag it in. Otherwise we have photoshop, or just stick to paint. If the something doesn't adjust to your liking, then maybe it's you that needs to do some adjusting as well...

you do no longer opt for a level, you opt for skills. you would be able to nicely be a storyboard artist, animator, concept artist, comedian e book artist... a super type of issues. It relies upon the place you wanna be? You wanna artwork for Pixar? You wanna artwork for cartoons on Nickelodeon or caricature community? you opt for to create a comedian hero? Make your guy or woman photograph novel? confident, there are jobs.
