An epidural is alot. I know because I thought my insurance covered it but didnt after my baby was born 7 months ago. I think the bill was $3000. They wanted that within 15 days so now I am also paying the interest that comes along with it. Like what parents other that tom cruise and katie holmes can afford that much a week after a child is born. But I dont regret getting it. And my insurance did pay for some of it.

It's going to depend on what services they provide u during labor and delivery? I'm assuming your not doing a natural child birth... the hospital billing dept or your ob-gyn may provide u their source of anesthetist. Contact them and get a general figure.
When u have your child, as long as ur paying the bill monthly no matter how much it is... they won't take u to court. Just make either wkly or monthly pmts. Do not skip. A friend choose wkly and it took her forever... but it was paid in full $3,000.00. Also don't be afraid to ask anesthetist to give you a discount ... he/she may shave off a portion of the bill. Find out what your insurance is willing to cover... that will help you in talking with the anesthetist.

It cost me 300 for my portion of the bill. But when your insurance doesn't cover it they will usually cut you a deal. Good luck

mine was 3 thousand but I was in labor for 19 hrs, and I got a discount because the guy kept touching my boobs and he wasn't supposed to so they had to call another anesthesiologist in.
good luck. If you start labor and it goes fast you shouldn't get it, its not worth it, it doesn't always work and after that your back will hurt a lot most of the time.
