Look up the "N" word in the dictionary and see its meaning. Same reason you don't want to be called a@@hole.

Pre-civil rights movement African Americans were often referred to as ******.But cruel and prejudiced people would use the slang term, N....r instead. It was a derogatory and extremely offensive term, that many ignorant white people used. Today it is considered politically incorrect, as well as incredibly ill mannered to use that word to refer to a black person. I am not quite sure why it isn't offensive to use it within the same race, I would think that using it would be a put down as well. FYI I am white.

I know the n-word is bad but yes i watched the real world and tyrese was way out of line he provoked davis extremely intimidating him, saying boy get out of the tub and come here now i deserve some respect when he wasn't giving davis any. He shouldn't have said the n-word but what do u expect the way he was acting toward davis for no reason something he did not do

It is a derogatory term meant to oppress us as an entire culture, no matter who says it. I would dare say those that say they put slang on it that makes it okay continue to live in the shadow of ignorance.

The truth is, if the word came to exist under different circumstances with a different meaning it would be okay. But, the history that accompanies that word, as well as other racially derogative terms will forever make such words degrading and uncivilized.

I saw how he respond, and you would understand if you where a African-American, the "N" word is an insult to all black. No one like to be called a name that has that much meaning behind it. Just like Jews, and Muslims, and other cultures do not like to be called something because of the color of there skin. How would you feel if someone judge you because of your skin color or even your religion, you would respond in the same way. Please didn't take it personal of what i am saying i just hope you have a more clear thought to your question and my answer. Hope I was some help to you.

Because in thier world, that is what you must do when someone mistreats you. The N word is disrespectful and shame on those who use it.

Please stop mistreating people because of their race or color. They were born that way and there is nothing bad about being white or black, its how you live hour life that matters. Don't allow these ignorant morons to provoke you to ackting in a way that could change your life or theirs. Just ignore the fools.

well, the definition of ****** is an ignorant illiterate person i dont know about you but i wouldent want to be called this. also many ethnic groups even whites say the word *****... in terms of adressing thier friends i believe that even in this context the word is insulting. im black and the way i see it is why are black people so uptight about being called this when they use the word themselves? does that make it ok? NO!!! the word ****** was also used to keep black people in slavery times surpressed which has gone on to our generation today sadly.
