and I don't like that, because I thing they're fun, and I don't know many people here, how can I stop being scared of the way they would react if I returned to their meetings, and not think they'll see me as out of place and awkward?thanks

if you want to go , just go.
it is you who will make them to think if you are out of place or not.
just be cool,behave like nothing has happened and if they wanted to bring something up, change the subject. just be confidence and relax.
if you see they can not get your point , then you will know that they are not for you
