No, it's not illegal to say the Holocaust didn't happen, in the US. Though people that really believe that it didn't happen are in denial.

Freedom of speech completely over rides Holocaust denial. Making something like that illegal is taking a step towards fascism. I think people who want to make laws against Holocaust denial should learn more about World War II, so they can know when we're starting to head that way again.

I was with some Germans in L.A. last year who looked like they were going to faint when a friend of mine made a holocaust comment...something about how some of the Jews reported dead had actually escaped to other countries. I explained to him that in Germany, his remark would have landed him in prison. The Germans confirmed this as a strong possibility. How pathetic that they have to live in fear over expressing a forbidden view.

I think the laws are irrelevent, because whether or not they choose to deny the existence of the gas chambers doesn't mean they never existed. If this individual participated in exterminating Jewish people and denied this, that should be illegal. I think sometimes there are exceptions to laws of free speech when denial in particular aspects of history can create such controversy, this doesn't mean I agree to those laws, despite my Jewish heritage.

The problem is becasue the Jews have made the Holocaust an article of faith and if you question any part of it you risk a 21st centruy version of being burnt at the stake! Jewish people will not recognize any other genocide but their own. They use the Holocaust as an excuse to rob Palestinians of their land and human rights. So they need the Holocaust to make the world safe for Israel regardless of what it does to others.

The First Amendment guarantees the right to deny the existence of the Holocaust. Basically, you have a Constitutional right to voice just about any asinine viewpoint you can think of.
And if you don't believe me, fire up C-SPAN and take a gander.

It's no illegal, and even if you disagree with someone they still have the right of freedom of speech.
I hate conservatives who believe that homosexuality is a disease. I really do. I want to scream.
How long did we deny the Trail of Tears? How long did we deny that we were prejuidice against African Amercians, women, the Japenese.
How does denying the holocaust affect you? Does it hurt you? People who deny the holocuast in the US are stupid, but how does that affect you? Are you doing to deny the freedom of speech to someone because they are an idiot?
ONCE you take away the freedom of speech of one person with whom you disagree, the freedom of speech we have built our country upon has crumbled. Freedom of speech doesn't apply to just those with whom you agree--they apply to everyone.

It is completely legal to deny the Holocaust in the US.
It is also legal to deny the moon landing and to believe that Area 51 is where the gov't is holding captured aliens.

In the U.S. it is totally legal to deny reality, including the holocaust. You can make yourself a public idiot if you want to.
Our constitution assumes that if we have the brains to govern ourselves, we have the brains to find out the truth.
As Lincoln said, you can fool all of the people some of the time, you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
