Why do low class people stay low class?

I would think people who are low class or white trash would want to break the cycle. Why do they stay that way?

The Rich get richer, and the Poor get poorer, WHY?
Because the Rich know how to play the GREED of the Middle Class.
And get them to want more of this and more of that, so they demand more
wages, and more benefits to pay for it.
Then the Rich can raise the prices on their goods.
And the Rich get richer.
The Middle Class brings home more money, but doesn't "have" any more money.
And the Poor get clobbered!

I'm sure there are many reasons, among them:
1. It's the only lifestyle they have known.
2. They don't have the resources to get a good education.
3. They are not interested in getting educated.
4. They are busy fulfilling the most basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing.
5. They don't have many aspirations.
6. They don't think they can change.

I think you used a good word when you mentioned "cycle". It really is a cycle and to break it people need a very strong willpower, hard work and high dreams.

When you're trying to get out of a yucky situation , say saing up as much as you can from minimum wage jobs the little bit u save up ends up going to your car that just broke down taking you to your 2 dead end jobs, so u need the car there for the money saved is gone. You have kids who come first need clothes doctor appts no chance to save. You have no time to go to college because you work so much. And some lose confidence and think it will never get better and fall in to depression and giving up. People in low incomes are not trashy just trying to survive. There are so many reasons why poor people can't rise above, but alot have so lets wish all them good luck in this crazy world.

One big problem: not enough money. If you work minimum wage, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week...you end up earning LESS than the poverty line. And Lord help you if you have kids - even an illegal daycare will cost you almost as much as minimum wage! Most poor people end up working two jobs at once, and have no time or money to invest in education.

It's poverty.And along with that is low self esteem.Your trying to make the rent and buy food. You turn on the tv and you see ads for borrowing on your mortgage;you don't have a mortgage. Lease a car ,it's easy .yeah for the person who earns enough for the credit to be accepted.And my kid hates school. He/she is old enough to work. They may as well quit and bring in some income.My pastor said,"well ya got to do what ya got to do.Maybe they can get their GED later."
It's a way of trying simply trying to survive and there is safety in numbers . A birds of a feather thing.You get comfortable.
Oh I know there are a lot of books out there about "pulling up your boot straps" , coming out of poverty and becoming a well known author or getting your PHD,and that's admireable, but it isn't relative.

not everyone will be comfortable in a different world. Many have grown up this way and so they want to stay in the world they are most aware of. It doesn't make them "trash" . Not having alot of money and living in a neighborhood that fits your budget does not make you a worthless low life. So please, don't think so low of people who are in your opinion, not as well off as your or others seem to be. They may have riches that you are not aware of.

From what i will tell, Canadan is a little greater Socialist than the u . s . and that they have got a tendency to take greater effective care of their human beings. direction they tax heavily to try this. in case you have been poorer and not so inspired, that style of suggestions-set would desire to look ultimate. In Mexico, there in simple terms in simple terms are not any JOBS which will enable a individual with a relatives to stay to tell the story. Some people are afraid of change. And a lot more are stuck - how do you go or send a kid to college if you are working 3 jobs to survive? How are you motivated to learn when youre in such poverty?? Some people make it, but its extremely hard. That's why a lot of people dont make it.
