The question should be;Why did The Fuhrer Bush orchestrate the destruction of the Twin Towers in order to scare the American people into giving up thier rights and freedoms voluntarily and allow him to go to Iraq?

They thought they could install a pro-American puppet regime and walk away with fat oil and reconstruction contracts. The trouble was, the exiled politicians the neocons wanted to install at the helm included convicted con men like Chalabi, informants like the insane Curveball, and a host of others who'd been ex-patriots for so long that most Iraqis considered them to be British or American, not Iraqi.

Republicans never said that. Liberals like to make up the "facts" as they go along. Bush has said from the beginning that the war would most likely outlast his presidency.

They assumed they were going up against a country dramatically weaker and less armed than they were. They would also get much more support if they thought it would be over in less than a year. Guess they were wrong.
