You're probably dry dusting.

Dust your furniture with Pledge, your tv with a slightly damp cloth, and the dust will stay away for at least two weeks.

DUST gets into the most high place and tiniest places. It is a bane to any caring housekeeper and a danger of sorts to people with less than perfect breathing conditions.

It usually starts with the floor and furniture composition. That is, the material they are made of. Some materials shed fibers so minute they are difficult to see. They accumulate with common dirt brought in by shoes and clothing from the outside.

So...with that in mind, remember to clean your floor first and most often. When you dust, try to use something like End Dust, or a damp cloth or paper towel. Too much water may harm the surface of some things. Either use a barely moistened cloth, or follow with a dry cloth. Removing the dust with a vacuum would be ideal, because then it wouldn't be 'spread around' so to speak.

Choose furniture and floor surfacing that gives off and holds less dirt particles. That will solve a lot of future dust problems. Also, get a door mat to remove dirt from shoes before entering the house. Think before you enter. Should you brush yourself off, etc.

You have, possibly, dirt/dust coming in through windows. A small crack open on a windy day can bring in a lot of dust. When it's windy, feel (put your hand) next to your window panes and frames. If you feel a draft, you probably have dirt coming in.
Hope this wasn't too long and windy an answer.

One of my customers house would always look like it wasn't dusted after I left, the reason behind it was her carpet was old, she never had me clean the curtains, and her furniture was in need of cleaning. She took care of all these things and now her home is alot less dusty(it stays almost dust free in between cleanings).
Another thing you might look into is making sure your home is sealed, like around windows and doors.Hope these things help you out.
