my nurse said i had a grade three sprained ankle last week but i did noy want to go to hospital so walked on it. I have been in agony but am good at bearing pain. am i makeing my injury worse?

First of all, a nurse cannot diagnos a grade 3 ankle sprain. That would mean you have a total disrption of your ligament (probably the anterior talofibular). You would have extreme laxity. If that is the case, you should be seen by a physician and referred to an orthopaedic for a proper, more acurate dignosis. Upon completion of this, tou will be given a script for physical therapy. Please do not underestimate the importance of proper rehabilitation of this injury. It will pay off in the long run.

Yes you are making your injury worse and should not be bearing weight. If you have a 3rd degree ankle sprain which means you have torn ligaments, the only way its going to heal is the RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). Part of the resting would be the use of crutches. Also I suggest buying an ankle brace or ace wrap your ankle.

Yes, you're making it worse. You need to get either crutches or a cane and stay off of your foot.

You need to do whatever they tell you to do. If they say you need crutches then you better get them because if walk on it too long then your pain will probably last longer.

no you need to make it stronger try doing some exercises with it if it gets worse ask your docter and you might get crouches a cast.

yes please get on crutches to give ur anckle some sort of support before you will cause more damage to ur leg than u know.
