Stating a preference between Pinochet and Mugabe is like stating a preference between syphilis and gonorrhea. Have you ever heard the cliche "a curse on both houses?" Political murder was just as wrong in Chile during the 1970s as it is wrong today in Zimbabwe. If someone is truly committed to principles of political freedom, human rights, political due process, and the rule of the law they would dislike one as much as the other. Otherwise these things are just political expediencies.

Santa's Sac - you don't know what you are talking about. How is Blair worse? Has Blair has his political enemies summarily executed? Has Blair overthrown a democratically elected government? Is Blair PERSONALLY responsible for the murder of thousands? Because that's Pinochet - an evil, anti-democratic, murderous tyrant.
You may have valid criticisms of the Blair regime, but you just make yourself look ignorant by comparing a democratically elected government, which we can and will vote out with a brute like Pinochet.
