This is an honest question, do they bother you as much as conservative Republicans?

Liberals hate Conservatives. Blue Dogs are a necessary evil to liberals. They were pawns in getting their power back. Watch how little the dogs will venture off the porch. They are indebted to Pelosi.

I'm not a liberal but for my part I'm not bothered by them. Blue Dog Democrats shared many of the beliefs of the Democratic party and have helped gain seats in the south where liberals couldn't have been elected. I'm a moderate and I agree with them on some issues and I think they are a big help to the party.

I am what is called a yellow dog democrat that happens to be far left. In case you don't know what the term 'yellow dog demo' means.. that means I would vote for a yellow dog if it was the democratic candidate. I used to be an independent that voted the person but transformed after watching the Republic party continually vote in lockstep. I realized during that period in the 90s that fairness gets you nowhere when your opponent has his party in lockstep.

So with all that said, I do not like the Blue Dog democrats because they are too conservative; BUT, being a Yellow Dog democrat, I would still vote for them. Any Democrat is better than a Republican in office.

If liberals are bothered by Blue Dogs, they would do well not to admit it. The Blue Dogs are the majority in the House right now.

personally, I don't mind it at all... I like a little variety and I personally think that those you call "blue dog democrats" are probably the closest to the average American voter of any Representative we have today...

democratic ideas, but realizing what is possible and acting with in reason...

they are a huge threat to Repubilcans, in my opinion... and if the dems went with a "blue dog" for president... I don't think Repubs stand a chance... just me...

because, ultimately, even Blue dogs finally end up siding with the liberals. do not imagine so? Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) Senator Mary Landrieu (D-la) Congressman Bart Stupak (D-MI) ought to have some words for you.

I am amazed at the make up of the Democratic party.

Union workers, farmers, environmentalists, the poor, the elderly, gays and lesbians, lawyers, Hollywood elitists recent college grads etc etc. They all hate each other in the nonpolitical arena.
Think about them meeting in a bar.

Farmers +environmentalist= Fight
Union workers + those on welfare= Fight
Union + Elitists=Fight
Farmers+ Gays= Fight
Union + Gays= Fight
Poor + Elitists= Fight
Grads+Gays= Fight
Union+ Grads=Fight
etc
etc
etc
