+ the biggest difference would be making sure the Gas free engineer had certified the ship as NG free. I guess you do what you have to in an emergency. LNG ships are big bombs waiting to blow a hole in the ocean or anywhere that they are situated. I am surprised that there have not been any accidents yet.

Repairing an Lng ship isn't much different from repairing any other ship. The cargo system is highly specialized, so any repairs to it including the tanks would be done by a contractor certified for LNG systems. The basics are the same. Tanks must be gas freed by a marine chemist if that is where the work is needed, and fire watches posted.
