I doubt anyone will be able to answer this but posting just the same.
From time immemorium, my ice cubes have been nondescrpt. Sometimes clear, sometimes cloudy, depending on the temp of the water when I started. Tap water. Cubes are usually flat, extend to the edges of the tray. Pretty normal.
Since I have moved my ice cubes are deformed! They are now round on top and shrunken away from the sides, loose in the trays.

At first I assumed it was The Ice God but I am a Catholic anfd we dont do alternate God thinger. So of course I thought Ice Angels. Now I am thinking Ice Faeries.

I throw it to the physics folks: why are my ice cubes rounded and shrinking?

I know next to nothing about physics but could it be that your new refrigerator is self defrosting? That could do it.

I want one of your ice trays, no twisting or banging to get the little suckers out. Just tilt and go. I used to be able to get them, but no store seems to stock them.
