NO, however there is a thin line between your perception of Genius and stupid. You may be considered Stupid when your theories are not proven, but a genius and forward minded once the concensus changes. There is however a very thin line between genius and insanity.

yes in all ways! A genius could be smart but be so arrogant of it he/she is blinded to the rest of the world. A stupid person could be a genius who just doesn't care about the things others talk about, making that person seem stupid. there is practically NO LINE between the two because while a smart person may not know who they really are, a stupid person can hide what they really are.

The thin line is between genius and insanity.

Geniuses tend to think on a higher level and don't settle for "common sense". Wisdom begins with wondering. And part of that is wondering what's in and around things, not just their face value. This is what Plato called the "divided line" in regards to our levels of knowledge. Some only imagine and are considered "cave dwellers", then there's "thinking" but that's still only taking things at face value. When you get into concepts like mathematics or "The Good" then that's when you start thinking in a higher realm. You gain knowledge, and insight which leads to wisdom. A lot of "common sense" cavedwellers can't grasp their mind around how other people can be at that level, therefore, it appears as "insanity" to them.
Imagine Plato's cave theory. If you only lived in a cave facing the back wall and only saw shadows your WHOLE life and that's ALL you knew, but once you stepped out into the sun, you would think the idea of "sun" was insane right? And your eyes would have to adjust, and you'd slowly have to come to the understanding of "sun". It's just like how ordinary people who believe in "common sense" have to be able to slowly wrap their minds around a "genius's" level of intelligence.

Yes! And the line between genius and stupidity even has a name. It's name is "action". You can be a know-it-all, but if you take no action then that's stupid.

As far as geniuses not having common sense, I would have to disagree. This is a myth perpetuated by people are neither geniuses, nor have common sense.

Intelligence can be measured in many ways. According to standardized tests, there is a wide margin between genius and stupid. However, a high I.Q. doesn't mean someone can't be racist, sexist, or just plain cruel. Those are attitudes that I would call stupid. Looking at it that way, there is no line at all.

The "thinness" of the line is inversely proportional to the "thickness" of stupidity.

The distance from the dumbest person alive to the smartest person alive really doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the scheme of things. So "yes"!
